TetherLines ("we," "our," or "us") operates the TetherLines platform at tetherlines.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our real estate performance tracking service (the "Service").

By using TetherLines, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored securely via our authentication provider), role (e.g., Agent, Team Leader, Admin), and brokerage affiliation. Team account owners may also provide information about team members when sending invitations.

Business Performance Data

You may enter business data into TetherLines, including but not limited to: client contact information (names, emails, phone numbers), transaction and deal details (property addresses, sale prices, commission amounts), appointment records, pipeline opportunities, referral tracking, lender relationships, annual goals and KPIs, daily activity logs, and commission structure settings.

Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and timestamps of activity. This data helps us maintain, improve, and secure the Service.

Feedback

If you submit feedback through our in-app feedback tool (bug reports, feature requests, or general comments), we collect the content of your submission along with your name and the date submitted.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the TetherLines platform
  • Authenticate your identity and manage account access
  • Display your business performance data, calculate metrics, and generate dashboards
  • Calculate commission splits and track financial performance based on your configured settings
  • Enable team collaboration features (role-based data sharing within your organization)
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, team invitations)
  • Respond to your feedback, questions, and support requests
  • Monitor for security threats and prevent unauthorized access
  • Improve the Service based on usage patterns and feedback

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or business data. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

Within Your Organization

If you are part of a team account, your business data may be visible to other members of your organization based on role permissions. Account owners and admins can view team-wide data. Individual agents can view only their own data. These visibility rules are enforced at the database level.

Service Providers

We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it:

  • Supabase — database hosting and user authentication
  • Vercel — application hosting and deployment
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (invitations, password resets)

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers

If TetherLines is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:

  • All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
  • Database access is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring users can only access data belonging to their organization
  • API routes are authenticated and scoped to prevent cross-account data access
  • Rate limiting is applied to all API endpoints to prevent abuse

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and business data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service to you. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion — Request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. The cookies we use are strictly necessary for the Service to function. Because these cookies are essential, they cannot be disabled without losing access to the Service.

9. Children's Privacy

TetherLines is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
