Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 28, 2026
1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how TetherLines LLC ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on tetherlines.com and the TetherLines platform (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy and explains what we set, why, and how to control it.
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Cookies let a site remember information about your visit — such as that you are logged in or that you prefer dark mode — across page loads.
We also use related browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) for similar purposes. Throughout this policy "cookies" refers to all of these technologies.
3. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
These cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be turned off. They keep you logged in, secure your session, and remember your basic display preferences. Examples:
- Authentication session — set by our auth provider (Supabase) to keep you logged in securely between page loads
- Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) protection — set automatically to prevent malicious requests
- Display preferences — localStorage entries that remember your theme (dark/light), selected year, sidebar state, and similar UI choices
- Cookie consent — a localStorage entry recording your choice on the cookie banner so we don't prompt you every visit
Analytics (opt-in)
These cookies help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. They only run after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner or enable the Analytics cookies toggle in Settings → Account. Until you opt in, no analytics events are sent.
- Usage analytics — counts of which pages and features are used, time-on-page, and approximate session length; we do not link these to your account-level data
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, third-party social trackers, or any cookies that share your data with marketing networks.
4. How to control cookies
In TetherLines. The first time you visit, a cookie banner asks whether to allow analytics. You can change that choice any time by going to Settings → Account → Analytics cookies and toggling the switch. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled because the Service will not work without them.
In your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or staying signed in. Helpful instructions:
5. Third parties
We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate the Service. Their cookies are set on our behalf and do not share your data with marketing networks.
- Supabase — authentication session cookies (strictly necessary)
- Vercel — hosting cookies that may be set for security and load balancing (strictly necessary)
If we add an analytics provider that sets cookies, we will update this policy and ensure those cookies are gated by the opt-in described in section 3.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, prompt you again on the cookie banner.
